In 2024, I was invited to design a work for the exhibition Mata IrlandaIreland's Eye at the Irish Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia. Working with a team of makers at ISA Art in Indonesia, I created a detailed PDF outlining the project: to make a paper quilt with plant inks made with native Indonesia plants. The PDF included advice on foraging and making inks, modifying the inks, stitching the papers together, and framing the final work. I made samples in Ireland using garden plants, paper, and linen thread, and drew diagrams and illustrations for the digital instruction booklet. Together, through video calls and email chains, I collaborated with the team to make the final work–Paper Quilt.

Below are some process images sent to me by the team in Indonesia. In addition to the larger work, I made four digital collages using scanned samples of ink to describe the project. The works were shown alongside work by four other artists from Ireland. The show opened on March 11, 2024 at the Irish Embassy in Jakarta, then toured to the World Trade Centre in Jakarta, and the Visma Gallery in East Java.
