Katerina grew up in the woods of Connecticut, the daughter of two scientists. She received her BFA in Drawing from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. After graduating, she moved to southern California and began a natural dyeing practice as both her love and concern for the environment grew. Now, her art practice uses only found and up-cycled materials, colored by natural pigments she collects in nature. Sustainability and consumerism are key themes prevalent in her work. She is currently studying for her MFA in Art & Ecology at the Burren College of Art in western Ireland.
